Guardianships and Conservatorships

We understand that the decision to set up or contest a guardianship or conservatorship is never easy.

The attorneys at Warner Angle can assist in setting up either a guardianship or a conservatorship, as is appropriate to the situation. There are important distinctions between a guardian and a conservator.

  • A guardian is put in charge of caring for the health and well-being of a minor, a person with special needs or an incapacitated adult.

  • A conservator is charged with looking after the finances and assets of a person deemed incapable of doing so for him or herself.

We understand that the decision to petition the court for a conservatorship or guardianship, or to contest a petition for a conservatorship or guardianship, is never easy. Our legal team is available to assist you in the application and appointment of a guardian and/or conservator.

If the appointment or administration of a guardianship and/or conservatorship involves a legal dispute, we are available to stand up for your rights and help negotiate or litigate the dispute in order to resolve the disagreement.

In cases of alleged financial exploitation that require adult protection, our attorneys offer valuable experience in protecting elderly and incapacitated adults and in representing persons who are committed to those adults’ best interests.
